In 2000, David Luft left his job at the local utility company to become the founder of LDD. He earned a degree in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico. He also went on to become an Apple Certified Technician, working on the legendary Apple IIe adjusting drive speeds and soldering memory modules. He then earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems from his alma mater. He also earned his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certificate and became a Microsoft Certified Trainer. Now he runs his own successful business with his beautiful wife Dina. Outside of the office, David enjoys working on cars, going camping, hiking and fishing.
Dina Luft has been working with LDD Consulting from its conception in 2000. She is an integral part of making sure that each customer, no matter their level of IT understanding, feels a sense of peace and assurance about their technical needs and issues. Dina understands the frustrations that often come with the IT world and relies on her professionalism, friendly demeanor, and good communication to make sure every client is confident that they are being taken care of by the best IT firm in Albuquerque. She is head of accounts receivable, helps manage the office, and is ready to help anywhere that is needed as the company grows. Before settling down in Albuquerque, she lived in Texas, Montana, New Jersey, and California. She likes watching the wildlife in her backyard, listening to music, reading classics and spending time with family. She has a son in the Army and a married daughter who lives in Alabama. She loves being “Ganya” to her grandchildren.
Dave is a support technician with LDD and has worked in the IT field for over 20 years. He loves to help people solve their technology problems. Dave was born and raised in Albuquerque and loves to travel with his wife and seek out comedy clubs and Hard Rock Cafés in cities they visit. When not working, Dave spends time with his family, watching movies, reading books and working on projects around the house.
Martin, the Graphic Designer and Website Project Manager for LDD Web Design, has been doing web design for over twenty years. For the past six years, he has been able to use his expertise to translate the goals of LDD’s clients into successful web strategies. He is light-hearted, going by the motto “keep it groovy,” enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, and playing the bass guitar. His favorite song is Gunslinging Bird by Mingus Big Band.
In any business, technology is a must and many people can feel thwarted when their computers, phones, printers don’t work. My approach to client day to day minor problems is to better educate them which allows them to have an understanding of how some of these items work. Knowledge can be a powerful tool. I generally work on servers and networking equipment while also providing the best service possible to clients on large and small issues. Working at LDD is great because I am part of a cooperative team who are open to asking questions in order to maximize the knowledge in providing a solution to clients which helps give clients a much more rapid and complete fix to their issues. I have worked in the IT industry for over ten years, and I particularly enjoy doing Pro Bono IT work for Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs). I grew up in England, staying there until I completed a four-year college degree in Information Communications Technology. I then moved to California where I lived by the beach and was an owner of a radio and a record company. After selling my companies, I moved to Las Vegas, NV and helped out a friend with haunted houses working with Frightdome (Circus Circus) and Hazard Room (Binions). After some time having great fun, I decided it was time to assist marginalized populations and moved to New Mexico where I joined Public Allies and Americorp to bring IT solutions to NPOs who could not cover the cost of a professional IT company. This collection of broad experience enables me to provide the best support to the clients at LDD. My top three favorite reads are Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Time Enough for Love and Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my children, playing video games, tactical training, target shooting and carpentry.
The IT industry has a stigma that it is a money pit, the cost of doing business. While it may be true that IT is necessary for business, I want to inform and educate people that having the right equipment (which also functions properly due to proper maintenance) makes their job easier and allows them to be more productive. The right IT provider can make a world of difference for every individual in their organization and reduce the overall cost of doing business. I’m the friendly guy who answers client support calls and helps resolve their issues as quickly as possible. I graduated with honors receiving my Associates degree in Computer Information Systems with a dual concentration in Network Administration and System Administration. I also hold a Comptia A+ certification and continue to further my education on a regular basis. I’ve been actively employed in the IT industry for four years, but I’ve been working with computers most of my life—for fun, I once built a custom gaming PC. I like the “get it done” atmosphere at LDD. We work efficiently to resolve issues and communicate regularly regarding current and future matters. LDD has a supportive atmosphere which helps each team member succeed. I grew up in Rio Rancho, where my dad, who also works in the IT industry, encouraged my natural curiosities and allowed me to figure things out on my own. I believe this helped shape my problem-solving skills necessary in this field. My favorite podcasts and reads are “Clockwise” podcast, Reddit Technology Subreddits and the book, Who Moved My Cheese. I enjoy reading, playing video games and just hanging out with friends in my free time.
I am a caregiver at heart and truly enjoy being a small part of helping LDD grow and I like building relationships with our clients. I’m the person who reaches out to potential new customers, and I attempt to extend David’s amiable and honest qualities that run throughout LDD’s culture. Assisting with marketing for LDD is so much fun as I have the pleasure of learning the best ways to communicate our message to leads, reaching out and meeting new people and further nurturing our current clients. I took a hiatus from the professional world for 16 years to raise a family, but am thrilled to be back. In my former life, I worked for a toy company marketing girls entertainment software products. I received my undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands in California. Working for David and Dina is like being part of a family. Every staff member is supportive and everyone works together to help each other succeed which in turn helps LDD succeed. I was born and raised in Albuquerque, but spent 17 years in Los Angeles finishing school, working and starting a family. Working for “Corporate America” has given me an appreciation for small businesses. The work culture between the two is vastly different and I can attest to my strong preference for the latter. Despite the usual downsides to big companies, I was lucky enough to work with and have mentorship by some amazing women who taught me the value of perseverance and flexibility. In my free time, I am busy being a mom to two teens at home, biking through the bosque with the family, reading and listening to books—I love story telling in all forms. My favorite podcast is “What Should I Read Next” by Anne Bogel and a couple books that I love are the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, although I like books from various genres.
People depend on technology in their business and their daily lives. When technology doesn't work, it presents frustration and inconvenience, neither of which anyone enjoys. My work involves preventing and overcoming these scenarios and I take pride in doing so efficiently and effectively. I greatly enjoy empowering others through technology to accomplish their goals. I try to understand as much as I can of our clients’ various industries. This gives me a greater understanding of the work they do and its significance. With the variety of industries comes equal variety in my role. From writing scripts to install test software at schools, to ensuring HIPAA compliance for medical clients, my role changes frequently. I was employed in IT roles in the medical and educational fields. Additionally, I worked as a Team Leader for Apple Inc., and as a trainer for Canon ITS. I earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Regent University in VA. Working at LDD exposes me to various industries, and I can learn how technology is utilized in day to day operations. LDD offers a sense of professionalism with comradery, making for a fun and effective culture. I grew up on the East Coast and had an early exposure to IT with my father. I remember going to server rooms with him on the weekends and being fascinated with everything that had flashing lights. Soon, I learned to build call flows in early telecom software. I like listening to the podcast, “Tech Stuff,” and one of my favorite books of all time is The Way Things Work by David Macaulay. In my free time, I enjoy spending time at the range as I am certified as a Range Safety Officer, Pistol Instructor, and Personal Protection in the Home instructor. To unwind, I like playing games on PC, building gaming PCs, or working on small robotics. I am also an FCC licensed Ham radio operator and my goal is to speak with the international space station within the next few years.
LDD provides our customers with an IT experience that challenges the stereotypical “I’ve been on hold with an answering machine for 6 hours” phone call. I’m proud to say that LDD has an immediate response time to our valued clients. Locally owned businesses should be celebrated and supported for the positive impact they have on their communities. David and Dina truly enjoy what they do and have high regard for the people they’ve hired which leads to favorable qualities in a business. I enjoy being a part of helping companies get the support they need for the technology that keeps them going. I am responsible for marketing and branding at LDD. I have a BA in Communications with an emphasis in administration. Small businesses have occupied most of my career and I love the unique challenges they bring. I enjoy being a part of a company that helps people achieve more. It’s rewarding to know that what we do fuels what our community of small businesses can do. I grew up in the Dallas, TX area. I went to a college outside of Lubbock called Wayland Baptist University. One of my favorite books is Boss Life by Paul Downs. I love spending time with my daughter and my church’s youth group.
